Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery
The Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery Service at our university is committed to advancing the health, productivity, and welfare of livestock through expert, evidence-based veterinary care. We partner closely with producers, referring-veterinarians, and other industry stakeholders to provide practical solutions tailored to the needs of each operation.
Our service utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to deliver accurate and timely diagnoses. From advanced imaging and on-site laboratory testing to herd-level health assessments, we integrate modern technology with clinical expertise to support informed decision-making and optimize outcomes.
Our team of experienced, board-certified clinicians brings extensive knowledge in production medicine, surgery, and herd health management. We are experienced in managing a wide array of conditions affecting pigs, as well as both small and large ruminants. Whether addressing individual animal cases or complex herd health challenges, we provide comprehensive medical and surgical care grounded in the latest research and industry best practices.
Ambulatory Service
The Large Animal Ambulatory Service provides care for horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs within a 35-mile radius of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This service is staffed by experienced large animal clinicians, senior veterinary students, and technicians/assistants. A full range of services are provided including basic health management, and minor surgical procedures.
